OK, Ed100 community, we need your help. We are hiring for the position of Ed100 Outreach Coordinator. This is a part-time, work-from-home contract role with flexible hours and a big vision. Please share this post to help us find just the right person with just the right skills!


Summary

Ed100.org, a non-profit program, is looking to expand its impact by systematically involving more of California’s school communities. To accomplish this, we need just the right person to focus on outreach. This position is part-time, 24 flexible hours per week. There is no physical office.

About Ed100

School communities are bursting with leadership potential. Ed100.org supports local efforts to develop that potential through knowledge of what’s possible. Used by PTAs, school boards, districts, colleges, and community organizations, Ed100 explains the education system plainly in English and Spanish so that parents, students, educators and community members can have an influence. Ed100 materials and programs help school communities support effective, informed conversations about decisions that matter for kids.

Every week, thousands of individuals visit Ed100 to find reliable information about education in California. Our weekly email highlights new information in our blog and updates to our lessons. Our social media efforts reinforce these messages.

Every week, thousands of individuals turn to Ed100 for reliable answers to their questions about the system. Our weekly email highlights new information in our blog. Hundreds have completed our online course, completing all of our lessons to earn their certificate as Ed100 graduates.

We are a small team, including volunteers and students. We work virtually in connection with people all over the state of California who care about building strong, well-informed school communities. Ed100 is a project under the fiscal sponsorship of Full Circle Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Job Description

The core work of the Outreach Coordinator is communication and relationship development. Our ideal candidate has digital marketing savvy, a sense of fun, and a drive to make a difference in school communities.

Social media: Write content for social media (Facebook, Instagram, X) and post daily or better, selecting and using the best tools for the job. Proactively interact with subscribers and visitors.

Email communication: Using ActiveCampaign, send email to subscribers not less than weekly, highlighting updated lesson content, new blog posts or other information of interest to subscribers. Grow the readership! Work with the editor to help develop content of interest that will increase subscribers and engagement.

Direct engagement with subscribers: Communicate with individual subscribers to encourage them to complete lessons on Ed100 and earn their Ed100 graduate certificate.

Partnerships: We make the most difference when community partners use Ed100 to achieve their goals. Establish and develop connections with leaders of PTA Councils and other parent engagement groups, advocacy organizations, and media.

School districts: Connect with community engagement staff in school districts, especially emphasizing areas of the state where PTAs are weak.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in social media campaign development and execution using tools for scheduling and impact analysis.
  • Interest in our core subject matter: the California education system (pre-K to 12+).
  • Demonstrated experience in email campaign development and management.
  • Strong skills in written English with good attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a focus on results.
  • A good design sense, and experience with a digital art platform such as Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Proficiency in written Spanish (very desirable).
  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS (desirable).
  • Strong interpersonal skills including active listening.
  • Works productively in a team that is virtual-only.

Compensation

This contract position starts at $28 per hour.
