Attention, high school students and college students! Ed100 is now accepting applications for the leadership team of the Ed100 Academy for Student Leaders. This select team will develop and execute the conference in 2023.
The Academy was one of the few unambiguously good things to come out of the Pandemic in 2020. Last year the conference involved hundreds of students from hundreds of schools, and speakers included Gavin Newsom, Sal Khan, Alvin Lee, Mike Kirst, John Fensterwald, and many more. (See the 2022 Program Guide Guide impact report.)
We aim for the 2023 conference to be the best ever, and we’re making changes. Among other things, we are expanding the program to serve college communities as well as high schools.
To make this program happen, we need a great team of student leaders from high schools and colleges all over the state. Applications to join the leadership team are being accepted now. Kavya and I will be scheduling interviews as we receive applications. Available roles include Outreach Ambassadors, Discussion Leaders, Tech coordinators, Video editors, Writers and Media assistants. Team meetings will begin in February.
Do you know students who are looking for a way to make a difference, learn new skills and build friendships across the state? Please forward this message to them. Want to know what’s it like to serve on the team? Watch this interview with Kaylee Nguyen — it includes video testimonials from students who served on the team in 2022.
Students in any grade level can apply to be part of this leadership team. Some of our most amazing team members started as high school freshmen. Others started as college students.
Parents, educators, administrators and funders: We need your help. Specifically, we are seeking participants for a small advisory group that will support the student leaders, meeting occasionally online. To learn more, please use this form and mention the advisory group. You can also contact me at [email protected].
Thank you for all that you do. This is going to be a lot of fun!
