The Ed100 Academy for Student Leaders, founded in 2020, is a FREE, non-profit program that connects high school students with opportunities to learn and lead. Our aspiration is to help each and every high school community in California to develop well-informed, diverse, connected student leaders in each grade level. Students apply individually for membership. The free summer online conference will be held June 20-22, 2022. Learn more:

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
Just because something is free and great doesn't mean that students hear about it! Each high school is like an island. The only way that a student hears about the Academy is if someone they know (usually an adult) personally tells them, "Hey, you should apply for this program. It will help you as a leader." To get that message to student leaders in EACH high school, at EACH grade level, EACH year, we need the help of adults in EACH high school community. No high school should be left out of this program. Last year hundreds of students participated in the summer conference. It was a good start, but we have a long way to go.

WHO CAN RECOMMEND STUDENTS FOR THE ACADEMY?
Anyone who works with high school students or high school communities can be an ally for student leaders — an administrator, for example, or a teacher, counselor, or PTA volunteer. If you oversee the school newspaper, or the ASB program, or an AVID program, please become an ally.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER STUDENTS APPLY?
The early application deadline is April 14.
The standard deadline is May 16.
The final deadline is June 17.
When students mention you in their application, you become part of the circle of communication about their participation in the program. We'll let you know when they are accepted so you can cheer them on. Later, when they earn a certificate for completing the free summer conference, we will inform you so you can get feedback about the program directly from them and celebrate their accomplishment. Along the way, both you and your students will receive occasional emails from Ed100, including updates about the summer conference plan. Students who apply early in the school year will also be invited to participate in student-led online discussion sessions.

AS AN ALLY, CAN I ATTEND THE SUMMER CONFERENCE?
Yes! You will be invited (not required) to participate in the 2022 Ed100 Academy virtual summer conference. (June 20-22, 2022)

IS THIS FREE?
Yes! All of this is free, thanks to the work of student leaders, adult volunteers, and donors. Please join us as an ally and share this form with other potential allies. We hope to form a durable network of adult allies who actively support the development of student leaders throughout the state. Thank you!
